UF to hold open football practice

UF head coach Billy Napier announced that the Gators football team will host an open practice on Saturday inside Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.

The free event will run from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Fans can enter Gate 1 and 6 at 2 p.m. and Gate 18 will serve as the exit point after practice. The event will be held weather permitting.

According to the UF release, the stadium’s gameday prohibited items and clear bag policy will be in effect for the two-hour event. Click here for a list of the prohibited items.

Select concession stands will be open along with the Gator Sportshop near Gate 9. Restrooms will be open on the main concourse of the stadium.

Fans should visit the UF Transportation and Parking Services website for information on parking restrictions and available parking lots around the stadium.  

The Gators opened camp on Sunday and held their first practice on Monday. Saturday’s event is slated to be the only practice open to the public.

UF starts its season at 8 p.m. on Aug. 31 at Salt Lake City to face Utah.
