Today’s senior spotlight is on Dalton Vonderstrasse of the Williston High School baseball team.

Vonderstrasse played centerfield and was a part of the Red Devils’ program for four years. He also played varsity football for three years at Williston.

Vonderstrasse was in the fishing club and on the homecoming court too. He got an opportunity to win a state title last year with the Red Devils’ baseball team. He was a Gainesville Sun 1st team All-Area selection as a junior.  He batted .370 with one double, eight runs driven in, a team-leading 32 stolen bases and 21 runs scored for the Class 1A state champions.

This season he was batting .250 with seven stolen bases and nine runs scored in nine games. He had scored at least one run in all but one game this season.

His favorite baseball memory? All of it.

Dalton wanted underclassmen to know that every diving catch, every stolen base and every at bat mattered to him. He just enjoyed playing baseball with his teammates. He wants the underclassmen to make sure they keep grinding, push forward, and they never lose the drive to win.

As far as his future plans? Vonderstasse has a career goal in the law enforcement field in mind.
