Heartwood Soundstage is introducing new community bar hours beginning Friday, Aug. 7, ensuring there will be no “dark nights” at the venue from Wednesday through Saturday, whether or not a concert is scheduled.
In the music industry, “dark nights” refer to dates when a venue has no scheduled performances and is typically closed. Under the new initiative, Heartwood’s bar and porch will remain open from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, offering drinks, happy hour specials, a discounted menu and free community activities, according to a Heartwood Soundstage release.
The initiative is designed to transform Heartwood into a welcoming “third space” where residents can gather after work, meet friends, enjoy a drink at sunset or relax with fellow community members, regardless of whether a ticketed performance is taking place.
Over the past several months, Heartwood has introduced a variety of free programs to build community engagement, including FIFA World Cup watch parties, Porch Sessions, film screenings, teen open mic nights and other events. The venue also hopes to serve as a regular meeting place for local clubs and informal gatherings, including crafting groups, card games, calligraphy clubs and other community activities.
Visitors are encouraged to support the initiative by purchasing beverages during community nights. Revenue from bar sales will help offset staffing costs and support the continued expansion of free programming at the venue.
Heartwood Soundstage will continue to host both free and ticketed events throughout the year.
