Oak Hammock at the University of Florida has been recognized as a 2026 recipient of the Bronze – Commitment to Quality Award from the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL), in recognition of the retirement community’s commitment to improving residents’ lives through quality care.
In an Oak Hammock press release, Chief Operating Officer Sonja Donin and Health Pavilion Administrator Calvin Reynek accepted the award during the Florida Health Care Association Annual Conference and Trade Show in Orlando.
The Bronze – Commitment to Quality Award is the first of three progressive recognition levels in the AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Program. The program recognizes long-term and post-acute care providers nationwide that demonstrate a commitment to enhancing quality care and organizational excellence.
“We are honored to be recognized with the Bronze – Commitment to Quality Award,” Oak Hammock President and CEO Kevin Ahmadi said in the release. “This achievement reflects Oak Hammock’s dedication to creating exceptional experiences for residents, families and team members. While we celebrate this milestone, we also view it as a stepping stone in our ongoing pursuit of excellence and continuous quality improvement, as we aim for the next level.”
The AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Program is based on the Baldrige Performance Excellence Framework, a nationally recognized model designed to help organizations improve performance and enhance quality of care over time. The rigorous, three-level evaluation process includes independent reviews by trained experts. Organizations begin at the Bronze level by developing an organizational profile that outlines key elements, including mission, vision, customer base, strengths and challenges.

The 2026 awards mark the 30th anniversary of the AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Program. Since its launch in 1996, more than 8,000 providers across the United States have participated in the Baldrige-based initiative to strengthen operations, improve outcomes and enhance the quality of life for residents and staff.
Oak Hammock will be recognized again during AHCA/NCAL’s Delivering Solutions 26 Convention & Expo, scheduled for Oct. 11-14 in Boston.
