The Gainesville Police Department arrested and charged Jaileen Damaris Pagan, 26, for vehicular homicide, a hit and run, driving without a valid license and driving an unregistered vehicle used in connection with a pedestrian death.

On Sept. 15, law enforcement asked the public to look out for a green Hyundai that they said had hit and killed a pedestrian walking in the area of 3300 Clark Butler Boulevard. Pagan was arrested on Sept. 20 for theft from the Butler Plaza Walmart, and now, law enforcement is adding charges for the pedestrian death.

The vehicle was located on Sept. 30 after Pagan’s arrest.

  1. Apparently, this person was out on bail after being arrested for shooting at someone in June, and being re-arrested for violating her pre-trial release conditions. The family of the person that was killed probably would have preferred that bond had been revoked after the 2nd or 3rd run-in with law enforcement.

Don’t judges realize there is a problem with gun violence? She was given bail by 2 judges for successive crimes before this ‘interaction’.

There is a lot more to this story.
