A 13-year-old Kanapaha Middle School student who threatened to bring a gun to school and kill another student was arrested on Thursday.
According to an Alachua County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) release, deputies arrested a teenage boy and charged him with aggravated cyberstalking after he sent multiple messages threatening the victim.
The incident started on April 15, when the teen posted a video on social media, calling a fellow Kanapaha student a derogatory term, cursed out the victim’s sibling and flashed “gang signs.”
On Monday and Tuesday, the teen sent the victim multiple audio messages threatening to not only fight, but also kill the victim. In the messages, the suspect held up “gang signs” and referenced previous homicides in Alachua County.
On Thursday, the victim received another message from the teen saying he would bring a gun to school and shoot the victim. This caused the victim to fear for their life.
ACSO said that because the suspect repeatedly made credible threats to the victim through the use of electronic communication, he was charged with aggravated cyberstalking and taken to the Alachua County Juvenile Detention Center.
Now the parents of the victim will have to be concerned about retaliation by the “friends” of this little thug.
What the parents are going to need to worry about now, is retaliation from “friends” of the aggressor.
These young people should be made to watch a movie titled Freedom Writers starring Hillary Swank and a cast of beautiful people of all colors and sizes. It is an excellent movie about gun violence, gangs, and a teacher who cared enough to make a difference in their lives.
