The University of Florida recently announced the committee that will lead a national search for the university’s next provost.
According to an administrative memo sent on Friday, Scott Angle, UF’s Senior Vice President for Agriculture and Natural Resources, will chair the UF Provost Search Committee.
Other members of the search committee include administration, faculty, students and leadership. A list of these members is seen below.

- L. Amelia Dempere, Faculty Engineer, Director, Nanoscale Research Facility and Immediate Past Chair of Faculty Senate
- Isabel Garcia, Dean, College of Dentistry
- R. Raymond Issa, Faculty Senate Chair, Distinguished Professor, Director, Center for Advanced Instruction Information Modeling, College of Design, Construction and Planning
- Lyrissa Lidsky, Raymond & Miriam Ehrlich Eminent Scholar Chair in U.S. Constitutional Law, Levin College of Law
- Victoria Pagán, Professor of Classics, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences
- Mary Parker, Vice President, Enrollment Management and Chief Enrollment Strategist
- Rahul Patel, Vice Chair, Board of Trustees and Chair, Board Committee on Academic, Faculty & Student Success, Public Relations & Strategic Communications
- Kushagri Sharma, Graduate Assistant in Mathematics, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, and President, Graduate Student Council

Additionally, Melissa Curry, vice president for Human Resources at UF, and Chad Tindol, senior vice president for Administration at UF, will serve as liaisons to the search committee, according to the memo.
The search committee will be assisted by the global organizational consulting firm Korn Ferry, the memo said. Applications, nominations and comments must be sent to UF-Provost@kornferry.com.
Dr. Joe Glover currently serves as UF’s interim provost and executive vice president for academic affairs. According to his bio, Glover spent 15 years serving as UF’s provost from 2008 to 2023. After a brief stint as provost at the University of Arizona, Glover returned to UF as interim provost in September 2024.
