
Several University of Florida graduate programs have been ranked among the best in the nation in the U.S. News & World Report’s 2026 rankings, released on Tuesday.
Leading the way was the College of Education, which rose from No. 6 to No. 2 nationally – “its highest position to date,” according to a UF press release. The college had six specialty programs placed in the top 20.
The College of Pharmacy ranked No. 4, and the College of Veterinary Medicine slid down one spot from No. 5 to No. 6. Also earning national recognition were the Warrington College of Business, Levin College of Law, Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (IFAS), College of Public Health and Health Professions and Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering.
Multiple UF graduate programs also ranked in the top 10 in their fields, including:
- Student Counseling – No. 2
- Tax Law – No. 3
- Special Education – No. 5
- Biological/Agricultural Engineering – No. 6
- Real Estate – No. 8
- Occupational Therapy – No. 8
Additional UF graduate programs were ranked in the top 20 nationally, including:
- Elementary Teacher Education – No. 12
- Nuclear Engineering – No. 13
- Accounting – No. 16
- Physical Therapy – No. 16
- Curriculum and Instruction – No. 17
- Adult-Gerontology Acute Care – No. 18
- Dispute Resolution Law – No. 18
- Education Administration – No. 19
- Higher Education Administration – No. 19
- Health Care Management – No. 19
- Industrial/Manufacturing/Systems Engineering – No. 19
- Biostatistics – No. 20
“These rankings reflect the University of Florida’s continued momentum as we strengthen graduate education across disciplines,” said Joe Glover, UF’s interim provost and executive vice president for academic affairs, in the release. “Our colleges are advancing research, preparing future leaders and delivering real-world impact in Florida and beyond.”
In January, U.S. News & World Report ranked UF’s online bachelor’s program No. 1 overall. UF also ranked first for its online bachelor’s in business and online bachelor’s for veterans programs.
In August 2025, Forbes magazine ranked UF as the No. 5 public university in the country, and in September, U.S. News selected UF as the No. 7 public university for the second year in a row.
