Dream on Purpose will host “Cupcakes & Conversations: My Money, My Future” workshop on Saturday at the Santa Fe College Northwest Campus.
The workshop will run from 2 to 4 p.m. at 3000 NW 83rd St., S-29 Multipurpose Room, in Gainesville. Girls aged 11–18 are encouraged to register for this free workshop at dreamonpurpose.org/events as space is limited.
“As families face rising costs and teens take on more responsibility than ever, Dream on Purpose is stepping in to make sure girls don’t enter adulthood guessing about finances. Instead, they will learn exactly how money works – how to earn it, save it, protect it, and use it wisely at Cupcakes & Conversations: My Money, My Future,” the release stated.
This workshop invites girls to learn practical skills, ask honest questions, and imagine the possibilities that come with financial independence.
“Financial education isn’t just about money,” said Dream on Purpose Vice President and Co-Founder JoAnne Karagnara in the release. “It’s about teaching our girls how to build the kind of future they deserve, one empowered decision at a time.”
This year’s session features Larry Tuch, author and founder of The Abundant Wallet, who will demystify wealth-building fundamentals in clear, practical steps teens can use right away.
Specific learning objectives include:
- Money Management Basics — budgeting, saving, and spending with purpose
- Smart Banking Tips — a teen-friendly guide to checking, debit, credit, and avoiding fees
- Building Wealth Early — how compound growth and habits work in your favor
- Spending Smarter — spotting money traps and protecting your goals
Supported by The Abundant Wallet, Santa Fe College, The Wagmore Foundation, and the Community Foundation of North Central Florida, this event offers real-world financial readiness for girls across the region.
