The Matheson History Museum will be hosting The Friends of the Thelma Boltin Recreation Center committee to make a presentation about the significance of the Boltin Recreation Center.

The presentation will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 29, at The Matheson (513 E. University Ave.). The presentation is free with registration.

The 80-year-old building was originally built as the Serviceman’s Center in 1943. The presentation will also discuss the life and legacy of Thelma Boltin, the program director of the recreation center turned recreation director for the city of Gainesville.
