Clay Electric Cooperative customers will see lower bills in July following passed-through savings from lower natural gas costs.
The utility reports 5.3% lower bills, saving the average household $7 a month. The savings will come from the power cost adjustment.
“Our lower power cost comes as a result of our power supplier continuing to purchase fuel at the lowest possible price,” General Manager Ricky Davis said in a press release.
The savings come on top of two 11% reductions in March and April.
Also in July, Clay Electric will increase its access charge to $32 a month.
Gainesville Regional Utilities also announced a bill reduction for July, following a similar April cut.
