Fort White accident claims 1, injures 1

One person died and one was injured in a Fort White collision Wednesday afternoon. 

A pickup and sedan were both traveling northbound on U.S. 27 around 1 p.m. when they collided near SW Utah Street, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report. 

The pickup overturned and the 53-year-old Branford male driver sustained life-threatening injuries while the 66-year-old Branford female passenger was transported by emergency responders to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead. The driver was wearing a seatbelt but the passenger was not.

The driver of the sedan, a 60-year-old Fort White man, and the passenger, a 39-year-old Fort White female, were not injured.
