Emergency responders extracted an entrapped driver involved in a head-on collision on North County Road 225 on Friday afternoon.

Two people were seriously injured in a two-vehicle head-on collision that occurred on North County Road 225 east of La Crosse on Friday afternoon.

According to an Alachua County Fire Rescue (ACFR) release, the crash occurred on CR 225 and NE 183^rd Place in Alachua County at 4 p.m.

Units from ACFR, Gainesville Fire Rescue and the Melrose Fire Department responded to the accident.

One driver was entrapped in a vehicle and emergency responders used hydraulic rescue tools, known as the Jaws of Life, to remove the person.

Emergency responders transported the two drivers to the local hospital.
