Two people were injured, with one being flown to UF Health Shands Hospital, after a recreational vehicle blew a tire on Interstate 10 in Columbia County, exited the roadway and collided with a tree on Sunday.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) release, a 68-year-old Palm Coast man was driving the RV and towing a pickup truck eastbound on I-10 near mile marker 309 in the outside lane at 12:30 p.m. when the front right tire blew. The RV exited the roadway onto the south grass shoulder and collided with a tree.

The driver and the passenger, a 67-year-old Palm Coast woman, sustained minor injuries. According to the release, since the passenger was not wearing a seatbelt and, due to the mechanism of injury, she was flown to UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville.
