Very few surprises came out of the district volleyball quarterfinals round on Monday evening.
The only lower seed to advance in the opening round was No. 5-seeded Bell, who overcame a 2-0 deficit to defeat No. 4 seed Dixie County (Cross City), 19-25, 16-25, 25-17, 25-21, 15-8, in Rural District 6
Union County was the only other area team from Rural District 6 to advance to the semifinals, defeating No. 6 seed Taylor County (Perry), 25-11, 25-8, 25-16.
In Rural District 7, No. 2 seed Chiefland eased past No. 7 seed Hawthorne, 25-17, 25-14, 25-14, while No. 3 seed Trenton swept No. 6 Wildwood, 25-11, 25-3, 25-13.
In Class 1A District 4, No. 4 seed Countryside Christian swept St. John Lutheran (Ocala), 25-22, 25-17, 25-19, while in Class 2A District 1, No. 4 seed Saint Francis Catholic Academy defeated No. 5 Rocky Bayou Christian (Niceville), 25-20, 25-20, 25-15.
