After over two months of investigation, the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) arrested UF Health doctor and assistant professor Chintan Vimalkumar Shah, 40, for possession of child sexual abuse material, transmission of child sexual abuse material, and use of a two-way communication device to facilitate a felony.
The sheriff’s office was tipped by the North Florida Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and linked Shah to online accounts and illicit online conversations with minors.
A judge signed a warrant on Tuesday, and Shah’s home behind Town of Tioga was searched and he was arrested. ACSO said more charges could come.
