The Gainesville & Alachua County Transportation Planning Organization (TPO) has launched a newly redesigned website aimed at improving public access to transportation planning information, project updates, meeting schedules and educational resources.
According to an Alachua County press release sent Tuesday, the updated website was designed to provide residents with a more user-friendly and accessible experience, making it easier to stay informed about transportation initiatives affecting Gainesville and Alachua County. Visitors can access the latest TPO news, information about upcoming meetings, transportation projects and opportunities for public engagement.
Residents are encouraged to visit the website regularly for updates on current and future transportation projects, planning efforts and ways to participate in the transportation decision-making process.
In addition to the website launch, the TPO is seeking applicants for a citizen-at-large position on its Citizen Advisory Committee (CAC). The CAC provides valuable public input and recommendations on transportation planning issues impacting the Gainesville and Alachua County community.
“The TPO welcomes public feedback, comments and suggestions for how, together, we can achieve a safe and efficient transportation system that sustains a healthy and active community,” said TPO Executive Director Anoch Whitfield in the press release.
Community members interested in serving on the Citizen Advisory Committee may apply online.
