The city of Gainesville is inviting the community to complete an online survey and/or attend a workshop on Dec. 11 to share ideas for improvements planned at the T.B. McPherson Recreation Complex.
According to a city of Gainesville release, the community workshop will run from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 11, at 1717 SE 15th St. The city’s Wild Spaces & Public Places Department, along with the Gainesville Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs, is seeking ideas for upcoming improvements to the complex.
Click here to take the online survey.
Participants will have the opportunity to:
- Share how they would like to see the T.B. McPherson Center renovated to support the activities and events they want; and
- Provide feedback on the outdoor areas and amenities in the complex to help guide future park improvements.
The T.B. McPherson Recreation Complex is a 15-acre community park in southeast Gainesville featuring a recreation center, pool, courts, ball fields, playground, trails, picnic areas, fitness stations and parking.
Although it offers many amenities, the park is one of the city’s least used. To help the park reach its full potential, the city is creating a 10-year vision plan guided by community input. The project focuses on renovating the T.B. McPherson Center while planning future improvements across the entire recreation complex.
