UPDATE: Law enforcement clears suspicious package near business

UPDATE (12:05 pm): The Alachua County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad cleared a suspicious package located near Master’s Lawn Care in the 18000 block of NW 59th Terrace in Gainesville.

According to the Alachua Police Department (APD), which initially reported the incident on Monday morning, the package was deemed safe and was discovered to be a cooler filled with motor oil and duct taped closed. The site was not associated with Master’s Lawn Care and, according to APD, appeared to be a former construction site.

The site was cleared and the Alachua County Environmental Protection Department has been contacted.

Law enforcement is investigating a suspicious package located on Monday morning near Master’s Lawn Care in Gainesville.

According to an Alachua Police Department (APD) release, APD officers are on scene after a suspicious package was located near Master’s Lawn Care in the 18000 block of NW 59th Terrace.

The Alachua County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad was requested to assist.

This is an ongoing investigation and the roadway is currently closed.
