A community workshop is slated on Thursday, April 9, for public input on the T.B. McPherson Recreation Complex renovation and master plan.
The workshop will run from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at 1717 SE 15th St. in Gainesville.
According to a release, the city of Gainesville’s Wild Spaces & Public Places Department and the Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs are planning improvements at the complex and want to hear from the public.
Participants will have the opportunity to:
- Hear a presentation on the proposed building renovations and site improvements, informed by feedback from the first community workshop and survey
- Provide input on draft conceptual plans to help refine the final building design and site master plan
About the project
The T.B. McPherson Recreation Complex is a 15-acre community park in Southeast Gainesville featuring a recreation center, pool, courts, ball fields, playground, trails, picnic areas, fitness stations and parking.
This project is a planning effort to renovate the T.B. McPherson Recreation Center and shape a 10-year vision for the surrounding park. Design and construction of the recreation center renovation is expected to begin following completion of the master planning process.
