Once again, junior pitcher Addison Allaire led the way for the FHSAA Rural state champion Tigers (25-3), who defeated Liberty County (Bristol), 13-1 in five innings, on May 20 to 3-peat.

The University of Florida commit was 18-3 in the circle with a 0.81 earned run average (ERA). In 138.2 innings pitched, she only walked 28 and finished third in the state with 295 strikeouts.

Allaire had 16 complete games, seven shutouts, and the first perfect game of her career in a 1-0 win against Madison County on April 10. She had 16 strikeouts against Madison County in the state semifinals.

Offensively, Allaire was second on the team with a .449 batting average and 28 runs batted in (RBI). She led Trenton with seven home runs and an .899 slugging percentage (SLG%).

“This recognition is a reflection of the incredible season Addi put together and the impact she has on our program every day,” said Trenton coach Kevin Benson. “Addi is one of the best pitchers in the state and one of the most dangerous offensive threats at the plate. When you combine that with her leadership, work ethic, and competitiveness, you get a truly special player.”

Allaire repeated as the Florida Dairy Farmers Rural Player of the Year (POY), finished runner-up for the Miss Softball award, and was recognized as the Florida Gatorade POY.

“Those honors speak to the level of talent and consistency she brings to the field,” Benson said. “What makes Addi even more impressive is the way she leads her teammates and represents our program with class. I am extremely proud of her and believe this All-Area honor is another well-deserved recognition of an outstanding career and season.”

She was one of three Trenton players selected.

Mackenzie Fisher, who transferred to Trenton from Chiefland during her sophomore season, had a solid junior season.

The St. Leo University commit led the Tigers with a .500 batting average, 42 hits, and 32 RBI, 14 doubles, and seven triples.

“Mackenzie is the definition of an all-around player and is more than deserving of All-Area recognition,” Benson said. “As a utility player, she impacts the game in so many ways, whether she’s making plays in the field, leading us offensively at the plate, or stepping into the circle whenever she gets her opportunity.”

Fisher, who was the team’s catcher as a sophomore but primarily played first base and pitched as a junior, was second behind Allaire (.612) with a .576 on-base percentage (OBP) and an .869 SLG%.

She was also 6-0 with a 0.22 ERA in 32 innings pitched.

“Fish has been one of our team leaders with the bat all season,” Benson said. “She prepares daily to play all nine positions if needed and is also a really good pitcher who could easily be the No. 1 pitcher on most teams in the area. Beyond Fish’s talent, her leadership, work ethic, commitment, and willingness to do whatever the team needs make her incredibly valuable to our program.”

Sophomore Addilynn Welbers joined her teammates on the first team after finishing third for Trenton with a .411 average, a .481 OBP, and a .537 SLG%.

“Addi is a special player because her speed immediately impacts the game,” Benson said. “Her speed is a weapon, but what really separates her is her softball IQ. Addi is a true student of the game who is always learning, always asking questions, and always looking for ways to improve.”

Welbers, who finished fifth in the Rural classification with 41 runs scored (RS) and third with 29 stolen bases (SB), displayed her speed with an inside-the-park home run in the state championship game.

“It is Addi’s instincts on the bases that make her elite,” Benson said. “She watches every pitch of every game and will study what all 9 players are doing, so when she gets on base, she knows who and what situations she is going to use that elite speed and instincts to take advantage of the opponent. As a sophomore, to earn All-Area recognition speaks volumes about her work ethic, talent, and future potential.”

Branford, which just missed its fourth consecutive final four with a 3-2 loss in nine innings at Madison County in the region final, placed three on the team.

The Bucs (19-9) were led by Columbia (Lake City) transfer and Florida State University commit Harleigh Price.

The junior pitcher was third in the Rural classification with 184 strikeouts in 110 innings pitched. She had a 1.59 ERA and one no-hitter.

Price also led the Rural-District 6 champions with a .429 average, a .554 OBP, a .662 SLG%, and nine doubles. She tied for the team lead with three home runs.

“Harleigh is the type of player every coach wants in their lineup,” said Branford coach Oscar Saavedra. “A strong pitcher, dependable infielder, and powerful hitter, she impacts the game in multiple ways and consistently competes at a high level. As she heads into her senior season, we’re looking forward to watching her continue to elevate both her game and those around her.”

Senior Mallory Blue joins her teammate on the team as a utility player.

The Seminole State College signee ranked fifth in the Rural classification with a 1.16 ERA and 13th with 31 RBI. In nine appearances in the circle, she was 7-1, and at the plate, she was second behind Price with a .419 average.

Blue, who also had three home runs, led the Bucs with 39 hits, 30 RS, and she was second behind Price with a .613 SLG%.

“Mallory’s impact on our program goes far beyond the field,” Saavedra said. “Her versatility as an infielder and pitcher, combined with her powerful bat and competitive spirit, made her a difference-maker every game. We’re proud of all she’s accomplished and can’t wait to watch her succeed at Seminole State College.”

Senior infielder Victoria Swain helped Branford match Trenton with three players selected on the first team.

The Flagler College signee, who had a 1.16 ERA in 36.1 innings pitched, was second on the Bucs with 37 hits, 25 RBI, eight doubles, and a .458 OBP. She was third behind Price and Blue in hitting (.416) and SLG% (.607).

“Victoria’s passion for the game and competitive drive set her apart throughout her career,” Saavedra said. “Whether she was commanding the circle or delivering at the plate, she consistently rose to the challenge. We’re proud of her accomplishments and look forward to watching her continue to succeed.”

Williston placed two on the first team with the selections of infielder Jayla Coleman and outfielder Luna Asencion.

“Jayla is a dynamic, athletic freshman who has been playing varsity softball since 7th grade, and her experience shows in how she competes,” said Williston coach Kelcey Coleman. “She is extremely versatile and dependable defensively, using her range, instincts, and speed to make plays look routine.”

The freshman led the Red Devils (13-11) with four triples and tied for the team lead with 27 hits and 23 RS. She was second on the team with 25 SB, six doubles, and a .571 SLG%, and tied for second with a .351 average.

“Her speed is a real weapon on both sides of the ball, whether tracking down balls in the field or putting pressure on defenses on the bases,” Kelcey Coleman said. “Her bat is a major difference maker in our lineup, providing clutch hits and consistency in big situations. Off the field, she’s a great kid, coachable, respectful, and someone who represents the program the right way every day.”

Asencion, who pitched a complete-game 3-hitter in a 2-1 loss at Trenton in the Rural-Region 4 Final, led her team in five offensive categories and tied for the team lead with a .979 fielding percentage.

“Luna is a leader in our outfield who impacts the game in a lot of ways,” Kelcey Coleman said. “She’s a true speed threat who changes games on the bases and covers a ton of ground in the outfield, taking hits away from opponents.”

The junior led Williston at the plate (.379) and had a team-leading 24 RBI, seven doubles, three home runs, and a .682 SLG%. She was second with a .419 OBP and third with 25 hits.

“Offensively, her bat brings energy to our lineup and helps set the tone in key moments,” Kelcey Coleman said. “Off the field, she’s an outstanding teammate and an even better person, reliable, supportive, and a strong example of how to carry yourself in our program.”

Joining Fisher, Swain, and Coleman in the infield were seniors Leanne Dicks of Union County (Lake Butler) and Madison Dean of Bronson.

Dicks helped lead the Tigers (14-12) to a playoff appearance after finishing first or second on her team in seven different offensive categories.

She led Union County with a .505 SLG% and was second in hitting (.409), hits (38), RS (33), RBI (29), doubles (7), and triples (1). Dicks finished third with a .456 OBP and 14 SB.

“Leanne has worked hard since the day I met her,” said Union County coach Brian Tomlinson. “She would come get extra swings in before practice. Leanne was always the first in line to hit before games. She was always the quiet leader, but would be vocal when she needed to. The program won’t be the same without her.”

Dean, who helped lead the Eagles (11-12) to their first playoff appearance in 23 years, was second on her team with a .348 average and 24 hits. She finished third with 16 RBI, six doubles, and a .435 SLG%.

“Maddie is the type of player every coach hopes to have,” said Bronson coach Jeff Blankenship. “Her softball IQ, leadership, and ability to stay calm under pressure make everyone around her better. I’ve had the privilege of coaching her for more than 10 years, so this isn’t just about wins, awards, or statistics. It’s about watching a young athlete grow into an outstanding young woman. Her All-Area selection reflects the hard work, dedication, and perseverance she’s shown throughout her career.”

She also became Bronson’s first college signee in six years.

“As my first college signee at Bronson and a member of my first senior class, she’ll always hold a special place in our program,” Blankenship said. “She helped lay the foundation for what we’re building here, and my hope is that years from now we’ll look back and say she was the first of many Bronson players to continue their softball careers at the next level. I couldn’t be prouder to see her continue her academic and softball career at Wesleyan College.”

Rounding out the team is catcher Gracelynd Joiner-Solis of Bell.

The junior led the Bulldogs (5-12) in almost every offensive category, including hitting (.477) and SLG% (.795), which ranked second and first, respectively, in the Rural classification.

Joiner-Solis also led the ‘Dogs in OBP (.537), hits (21), RBI (13), and doubles (5), and she was second in RS (17) and SB (7). She did not commit an error in 103 chances, including a team-best 87 putouts.

“Gracelynd has been a tremendous asset to our program both on and off the field,” said Bell coach Krystal Holley. “Her quickness behind the plate is one of her greatest strengths and allows her to impact the game in so many ways. She is a hardworking, dependable player who brings a competitive spirit every time she steps on the field.”

Beyond her success on the field, Joiner-Solis excels in the classroom, maintaining an impressive 4.7 GPA.

“She is an amazing athlete, but she is equally gifted academically,” Holley said. “Whatever she sets her mind to, she accomplishes, and she is never afraid to set high goals for herself. Her dedication, work ethic, and commitment to excellence have made her an invaluable part of Lady Bulldog Softball. This recognition is well deserved, and we couldn’t be prouder of her accomplishments.”
