The Santa Fe (Alachua) and Buchholz boys soccer teams had the most success this past season among big schools in the area.
Coming off back-to-back district titles in 2024 and 2025, the Raiders raised the bar and advanced to their first final four in program history. Buchholz went unbeaten during the regular season and advanced to the second round of the FHSAA Class 6A state playoffs.
As a result, the Raiders and Bobcats combined to place seven of the 11 players on the Bosshardt Realty All Area team (Class 3A-6A).
Leading the way for Santa Fe (14-5-3) was senior midfielder Wayne Boone, who had a team-leading 39 points (16 goals, 7 assists).
“Not much that hasn’t been said about Wayne,” said Santa Fe coach Morgan Dall’Acqua. “He pushes himself to be successful and that is infectious to those around him. He is purpose-driven in everything he does.”
Boone, who was a key contributor in an overtime win against Suwannee (Live Oak) in the FHSAA Class 3A-Region 1 Semifinals, finished third in the voting for the Florida Dairy Farmers Class 3A Player of the Year.

Senior MF/F Dharma Rico joined Boone after finishing second on the Raiders with 28 points (12 goals, 4 assists).
“Dharma spent most of the season dealing with injuries, which greatly limited his minutes,” Dall’Acqua said. “While his goal total may not be very impressive, when you take into account that more than half of those goals were in postseason play, it helps to show his value to this team. He kept telling us, ‘if this is my last game, I want to leave it all out there,’ and he did.”
The third Santa Fe player is junior DEF/MF Mason Kramer, who recorded three defensive steals but also contributed three goals and four assists.
“Mason has a great soccer IQ, but this season he matured as a leader,” Dall’Acqua said. “His view from the surface is appreciated by the players and staff alike. He rarely loses his composure, maintaining a steady calm in all situations.

Buchholz, which had an unbeaten regular season, had four All Area selections from this year’s regional semifinalist team.
Junior Coby Taylor earned first-team honors after recording 58 saves and seven shutouts in 19 games with a 1.159 goal against average (GAA) for the Bobcats (16-2-1).
“Coby is an exceptional goalkeeper who plays with intelligence and composure beyond his years,” said first-year Buchholz coach Todd Rousseau. “Time and time again, he kept us in matches with big-time, Division-I caliber saves. He’s a difference-maker in every sense.”

Buchholz’s top three point-getters, junior forward Christian McDaniel, senior midfielder Dylan Fitzpatrick and senior DEF/F Carlos Cadet, joined Taylor on the All Area team.
McDaniel led Buchholz in goals (15), assists (15), and points (45). He ranked 10th in Class 6A in assists and led the district in all three categories.
“Christian is one of those players who always finds a way to surprise you,” Rousseau said. “He has a natural instinct around the goal, and every time the ball finds his feet, something dangerous can happen. We’re excited to have him back—he’s only going to get faster, stronger, and even more impactful next year.”
Fitzpatrick was right behind McDaniel with 38 points, matching McDaniel with 15 goals and adding eight assists.
“Dylan is going to be truly missed,” Rousseau said. “We asked a lot of him this year, and he delivered in every way. His maturity on and off the field set the tone for our team, and he’s been a steady, reliable leader for our program. He also scored some great goals for us this year that made a real difference in key moments.”

Buchholz senior forward/defender Carlos Cadet had 37 points (14 goals, 9 assists).
“Carlos is a true competitor in every sense of the word,” Rousseau said. “He plays with real creativity and technical quality, and leaves everything on the field, no matter the position. Whether we needed him up top or stepping into defense, he gave us everything he had. Replacing a player like Carlos won’t be easy.”
Suwannee (Live Oak) junior MF/F Rember Alonso, the Lake City Reporter’s Player of the Year, made All Area after recording 19 goals and 11 assists for the Bulldogs (11-10-4).

“Rember is a great all-around young man and a pleasure to coach,” said Suwannee coach Chris Joyner. “He is a leader on and off the field, always willing to help out his peers or teammates, and plays with intensity, heart, and grit. He always plays at 110%, no matter the score line. He means a lot to the team by his unselfish play, from scoring goals to helping to defend. He has played several different positions, from defense to striker. His natural position is a striker. His ability of scoring/ finishing is phenomenal.”

He is joined at the position by Keystone Heights junior MF/F Trenton Noble, who led the Indians (11-8-3) with 19 goals and seven assists.
“Trenton showed tremendous improvement from his sophomore year to his junior year and is an example of what extremely hard work in practice and games, along with a terrific team attitude, can produce,” said Keystone Heights coach Trevor Waters. “He had an outstanding season with five game-winning goals. Trenton is the type of player you need on your team to have a successful season.”
Columbia (Lake City) freshman forward Colyn Weatherspoon was selected after leading the Tigers (10-10-2) with 13 goals and four assists.
“Colyn Weatherspoon is one of the most cunning players I’ve ever had the privilege of coaching,” said Columbia coach Edward Turner. “Colyn is an observing and patient player who has the ability to explode at a moment’s notice. He meant more than triple the amount of goals scored by our second-leading goal scorer and tied for the highest assists on the team as a freshman. Colyn is and will become an exceptional player for North Florida Region 1 to contend with.”
Rounding out the team is senior defender Ian Woodend of Gainesville High School (6-8-2).

P.K. Yonge (18-4-2) led the way with three selections on the small school team (1A-2A).
Senior forward Jack Reichardt had a big year for the Blue Wave with 68 points (24 goals, 20 assists).
“Jack is our do-everything player, box-to-box, relentless, and game changing,” said P.K. Yonge coach José De León, whose team won the Class 2A-District 3 title. “He brings that offensive defensive engine and creativity that lifted our entire attack.”

PKY senior forward Davy Coleman was next with 48 points (17 goals, 14 assists).
“Davy is incredibly technical and gave us control when we needed it,” De León said. “His distribution and ability to find space, especially for our wingers, made him one of our key playmakers.”
Senior DEF/MF Ethan Bertrand joined his teammates as All Area.
“Ethan brought a strong mindset and total commitment every day,” De León said. “He gave us confidence defensively and added real danger with his ability to strike from distance. He was a steadying force for the whole group.”
Newberry, which lost 6-1 at P.K. Yonge in the 2A-District 3 Semifinals, placed two on the team in senior goalkeeper Cayden Francis and senior forward Lucas Nowels.
Francis finished with 233 saves, which ranked seventh in Florida and 12th nationally. He had an average of 12.3 saves per game for the Panthers (11-10-1).

“Cayden brought confidence to the team,” said first-year Newberry coach Nathan Smith. “Everyone on the field had confidence that Cayden would be a goalkeeper that they could rely on. With such a skilled goalie, the players on the pitch could be free to focus on making the tackle and not worrying about ‘what-if’ I miss. Due to this, our players could play more assertively, with a higher-pressure defense.”
Nowels led Newberry with 16 goals and added five assists.
“As the team captain, Lucas was the constant example for the team to follow,” Smith said. “Lucas was physically and mentally fit and present for every game and practice. No one outworked him and no one was as consistent as him. The coaches and players around him knew exactly what Lucas was going to do when he was on the field.”

In his high school career, Nowels scored 62 goals with 37 assists and had an average of exactly one goal per game. He played 4,658 minutes of soccer over 64 games, which is an average of 73 minutes per game.
“Taking into account his freshman year, Lucas essentially played every minute of every match from his sophomore year onward,” Smith said. “Lucas could score against even the toughest opponents, and you could truly count on him. His core attributes make him a fantastic player, but also a good human. I think Lucas’ successes can be attributed, in no small part, to the values his parents instilled in him.”
Class 2A-District 3 runner-up Williston, who advanced to the 2A Region 1 Final, had a pair on the team, including senior forward Miguel Gutierrez and freshman midfielder Noah Murphy.
Gutierrez led the Red Devils (14-4-5) in scoring (51 points), goals (21), and assists (9).
“Miguel provided senior leadership, always pushes hard and never stops,” said Williston coach Max Aguirre. “He was the top goal scorer and is an excellent student with a high GPA.”

Murphy was second on the Red Devils with 20 points (7 goals, 6 assists).
“Noah is an up-and-coming young player,” said Williston coach Max Aguirre. “He has great potential and will be a leader in the near future.”
Class 2A-District 2 champion Branford also placed two on the team.
Senior forward Victor Hernandez led the Bucs (11-9) in goals (18) and assists (9).
“Victor has been a cornerstone of our program since day one, understanding that true success comes from trusting the process all through his senior year,” said Branford coach Luis Huerta Dominguez. “His tactical awareness, leadership, and relentless drive to improve have made him an invaluable player and a four-year captain.”
Over his career, he became Branford’s all-time leading scorer with 48 goals and 25 assists.
“He consistently demonstrates what it takes to finish and create lives by strong values shaped by his faith and family,” Dominguez said. “In our toughest moments, Victor has shown the maturity to lead, have hard conversations, and push our team forward. He truly represents what it means to be a leader.”
Junior forward Alejandro Contreras had 17 goals and seven assists. He has 33 goals and 15 assists in his two years with the team.

“Alejandro Contreras has been one half of a dynamic scoring duo over the past two years, playing a key role in driving our team’s offense and helping lead us to two district championships alongside a strong midfield and defense,” Dominguez said. “He brings a sharp tactical understanding of the game, with the ability to adjust seamlessly to changing roles as situations demand. Alejandro has a knack for changing the course of a game in an instant, whether by finding the back of the net or setting up his teammates…we expect him to continue making a major impact.”
Rounding out the team are Oak Hall School senior MF Thomas Gibson (25 goals, 11 assists) and sophomore forward Ricardo Alvarado-Stefan (14 goals, 17 assists).
They helped lead the Eagles (9-9-1) to the second round of the Class 1A state playoffs.
